Old World Charm

Dolce & Gabbana's Fall 2013 runway show has inspired a new approach to richness. Using deep reds, shades of merlot and gold, gilded fabrics and crystal details create a regal theme on the runway.

We brought the same old world charm to a wedding design this past weekend. The colour story we created made this the perfect fall design!

The Liberty Grand was the ideal backdrop for this theme. We took a new approach when creating the backdrop, the sconces on the wall became a part of the back drop design, adding an unique touch.

We chose a very unique combination of colours and flowers for the arrangements.

If you are looking to bring a fall look to your wedding, use rich coloured floral arrangements. The deep reds and bold oranges are a great way to create an event perfect for the fall season.

Our Gold Cartier was used for the grand head table. To complete the old world look we dressed the backdrop and tables with our Merlot Satina, Merlot Chiffon, Chiffon Roses and Pearl trimmings.

Fall Color Story: Gold & Ivory

Looking for a rich color pallet perfect for your fall event? It's time to retire those typical fall leaves and dark red and orange floral arrangements and create a lavish, fashion inspired fall look.

We created this look last weekend at the Grand Victorian. The couple wanted a design that complimented the regal venue decor so we came up with this beautiful gold and ivory color pallet.

Our Ivory Origami Satin was used as pillars in our backdrop. This thick, luscious fabric works best in back drop designs as it adds depth and texture.

You couldn't have to many different fabrics in a backdrop, the more you use the more dynamic and eye catching your design will be. We used our Ivory SatinaGold Cartier and some gold diamond trim to add some sparkle. Our Gold Mesh Sequence accented the center of the backdrop and highlighted our bride and groom.

Our Ivory and Butter Cream Satinas covered the head tables. The elegant draping along the front of the tables were accented with our Gold Cartier. We made this design more unique by adding a few glamorous details to the backdrop and head tables.

Rather than the typical fall wedding floral arrangements with the dark reds and burnt oranges- a lighter, more soft arrangement was used to compliment this look. Ivory and soft pink roses with bold orange and greenery mixed in made an elaborate and unique floral arrangement.

The guest tables were covered in our simple Butter Cream Satina then dressed in our Gold Cartier and Gold Sequence Swirl. These two unique overlays brought the entire look together. Our Warm White Giselle Chair Covers accented with a gold cuff surrounded the guest tables.

Our simple Butter Cream Napkins are a classic way to complete this table top design.

Just a few of the elaborate linens used on the guest tables, our Gold Sequence Swirl and our Ecru and Gold Moroccan Nights Fabric.

We love hearing from you so be sure to leave a comment let us know what you think of this design!

Enchanted Forest

On Saturday September 22 the Susan Murray team created an elegant and magical wedding theme fit for royalty. We put a sophisticated spin on an enchanted forest theme wedding. We combined a number of textures and soft coloured linens to create this regal look that complimented the venue perfectly. The rich gold architecture at The Venetian Banquet Hall added to our design and framed our backdrop beautifully.

The couple had a large bridal party so creating a grand design was important. We wanted to make a design that highlighted the couple on their special day. We started with the bridal party's table, our Stone Satin and Ivory Origami Satin covered the head tables. We used our pink chiffon rosettes and some diamond trim to pick up the Origami satin and add drama to the textured fabric. Our Ivory Mesh Sequence draped over the table was an elegant touch that screamed bridal. The way it gathered on the floor added to the whimsical feel of the design.

For the backdrop we used two different ivory linens, gathered to make a luscious, dramatic look. Our Silver Mesh Sequence was draped down the center which highlighted the couple's throne chairs!

Our Table Top Chandelier was a custom design for this couple. The three chandeliers and hanging crystal chains were a dramatic, eye catching look that sparkled above the couple all night. The white manzanita branches wrapped in white chiffon really brought the mystical fairy tale theme to life. It really made the couple the focal point of the room!
For the head table we used our Ivory Rose fabric. This was the perfect choice for that enchanted, whimsical theme.

The cake was a simple yet elegant four tier white fondant cake. The soft ivory ribbon and diamond trim fit our design and added even more sparkle!

The guest tables were dressed in our Stone Satin and our Silver Cartier. The soft stone satin was the perfect color to highlight the beautiful floral arrangements. A long mirror runner is a great way to make the table look larger and to reflect the candle light and beautiful colors of the flowers.

The couple chose our Silver Ice Charger Plate from our new line of designer chargers. And what a great choice it was! The simple design was subtle but glamorous on the different linens they chose for guest tables.

It wouldn't be a Susan Muray design without a little sparkle here and there! Crystal votives and vases on guest tables are a great way to bring a classic look to the table without making it look too clutter. A few candles among the overflowing florals will give the table a beautiful warm glow. We also added shimmering brooches and crystal ornaments on the tables. This is an easy way to complete your table top design and add sparkle within your floral arrangements.

We love our Susan Murray brides and always go above and beyond for them. We are so happy to have been a part of this beautiful night!
