A Couture Bridal Shower

Our gorgeous bride, Alana, hosted her bridal shower at Carmen's Banquet Hall in Hamilton on June 3, 2012.
We'd like to start off by saying what an absolute pleasure it was working with Alana while planning her shower. She really brought her own sense of style in her decor planning, which we loved. Her Chanel inspired shower turned out beautifully and we are so happy to hear that she loved our work. She was willing to take risks when it came to her decor but she was able to maintain her underlying theme which is what we believe made her shower fabulous. Every aspect of the shower screamed couture.

She decided on a classic black and white theme with soft pink accents and pearls throughout the design.

Our Santorini Tent was placed near the entrance of the venue space. This modern black and white tent is the perfect focal point for any venue space. We lined the polls of the tent with our Ballet Pink Satina which softened the look and it fit perfectly with the theme. We used black tulle to tie the fabric draped down the polls. The billowing linen combined with our light black tulle created a lush and whimsical feel to the tent.

Guest tables were covered in a simple White Satina surrounded by our Black Ghost Chairs. The elegant shape of the chairs with the simple white satin linen made a statement in the grand venue and it complimented our Santorini Tent beautifully. And what better napkin than our Black & White Bel-air Stripe to complete the look.

Under the show stopping tent was an abundance of sweets. The Chanel inspired candy buffet was a hit with Alana's guests. As a Thank you  from Alana each guest received a two tiered dessert server which they could fill up with as many of these delicious sweets they could. Sweet tarts, cupcakes, cake pops and macaroons, each sweet were given a Chanel inspired name which we thought was an adorable touch! The desserts and other delicious confectionary were provided by the Cake Opera Co.

The candy buffet was covered in a simple white satina to really make the gorgeous candy display stand out. Black Lace was elegantly draped around the table. The corners of the tables were accented with different shades of ruffled pink tulle. This added a soft touch to the table.

The prize table was covered in a White Matte Satin dressed with black tulle. Classic Chanel bags were lined up along the table

For the backdrop we kept it simple, modern and elegant. Simple white chiffon was draped behind the head table. Black frames were hung unconventionally using our black tulle. The distinctly shaped frames against the white backdrop along with some up lighting created a rich, Old Hollywood look. The table was covered in our Black Floral Lace with a simple White Matte Satin beneath it.

She was ecstatic with the way the room was transformed, and we were happy to hear back from her,

Bridal Bliss!

A little inspiration can go a long way.

We love to inspire brides, planners and others in the event industry. This is why we love sharing our custom designs to show you there are no boundaries when it comes to your event decor. Here is one of our latest designs - we know you're going to LOVE this!

What inspired us to come up with this stunning design was the latest up and coming trend in the bridal world, Tulle, and our intricate sparkling brooches. It inspired us to create this soft, elegant look that screams bridal!

We put this together at the Estates of Sunnybrook, and what a perfect setting it was for this fabulous design. The charming bay window is the perfect back drop for any head table.

Our custom Table Top Chandelier framed the crystal chandelier perfectly. This custom Susan Murray design is the perfect way to highlight a head table in a fun and unique way.

This shimmering overlay, called White Gardenia, is exclusive to Susan Murray. It is one of our specialty pieces that really creates a focal point at your event - perfect for a head table!

This linen and overlay combination picks up the light perfectly creating a soft glow. We love this new fabric because it is so versatile. It could work perfectly for a white winter wedding or pair it with some brightly colored florals and a color napkin and it can work as a soft spring look, just like the one we have created here.

We've used our brooches in a number of different ways to tie in the theme and to add even more sparkle to the table. These card holders are a rich and elegant way to compliment these regal menus.

These are two of our newest event accessory creations. These custom chair accessories have just the right amount of bling and feathery tulle for a bride on her special day. What better way to highlight the bride at a shower or at the wedding reception than a chair like this! Our ivory tufted pillow with the soft ruffled tulle creates a whimsical chair back, as if you're floating on a cloud.

Our large chiffon roses are such a classic yet versatile piece for decor design. They can be used in so many ways, but this is one of our favorites. The ruffled tulle is like leaves cascading down the back of the chair. These are the perfect accent for our simple Tiffany Crystal Chivari Chair.

The florals were breath taking to say the least! They really brought the entire look together. The pops of pink and purple with a few greens amongst the soft white flowers were the perfect way to balance the table.

The five tier cake was a beautifully detailed work of art. Everything from the hand crafted flower topper to the silver draping was perfection. It went well with our design - a dream cake for any princess bride!

To compliment the florals and add a bit more color to the table top we used our Lilac Panama Pin Dot Napkin.

It wouldn't be a Susan Murray design without a few detailed accessories!

A variety of small votives were scattered around the table. The soft glow of the candles really made all of the bling shine!

In keeping with our theme a small detailed brooch was attached to our Lilac Panama Pin Dot Napkin.

Draped around the cake was our Lilac Reversible Satin with a diamond chain.

The New Tulle!

Tulle is making an elegant and flirty return to the bridal world, and we are loving every bit of it! Not the 80's puffy sleeves, giant bows and big hair kind of tulle but the delicate, whimsical tulle that has taken over the bridal fashion world these last few months.

Vera Wang has used Tulle in many of her latest bridal and evening gowns, each gown as stunning and unique as the next. The gowns give off an elegant, quirky look that only tulle could create.

These simple yet stunning pieces of bridal jewelry are made with a tulle ribbon. The light weight tulle is an adorable change to the traditional bridal jewelry. They're also a great way to add a pop of color into your look.

We were so inspired by the new tulle that we wanted to bring it into our decor designs. We are now introducing a new line of tulle into our decor collections. It is the perfect accessory to any event design.

A ruffled table skirt with shimmering shades of pink tulle is the perfect accent for a cake table or head table. It added texture and a little flare to our simple Flamingo Pink Satina.

Tulle can be used to decorate guest chairs at your event. We used multiple shades of pink tulle ribbon to add dimension to the chair. That paired with a few feathers and our Pink Silk Satin chair tie creates a fabulous, one of a kind chair accessory - perfect for a bride on her big day!

We used our blue tulle at a Bat Mitzvah last weekend and it was a huge hit! Tulle with diamond ribbon makes the perfect table accessory and tulle ribbon was a great cruiser table accent.

The light weight fabric is perfect to tent an event space. It's a romantic way to complete your decor creating an intimate fairytale wedding!

There are so many ways to add tulle into your event. A tulle chair tie, isle runner, or wrap your bombonieres in tulle ribbon. It's a versatile decor tool that is sure to be popular this wedding season!
